Sarah Welch

Managing Director, Curinos

Sarah is a Managing Director at Curinos, leading the Amplero platform. In her role, Sarah works closely with marketing and product executives across the industry to transform customer marketing interactions and optimize marketing investments. During her tenure with the company, Sarah has helped build, quantify and execute tangible strategic and tactical programs to grow acquisitions, deepen customer relationships and improve deposit growth at lower cost. She’s a strategic and results-oriented innovator with 20+ years of experience successfully launching and leading startups, new brands and new internal initiatives and is passionate about operating in spaces where data, technology and marketing intersect. 

Prior to joining Curinos, Sarah was Global Head of Marketing for Noom. She has also held positions at J. Walter Thompson, Ammirati Puris Lintas, M&C Saatchi, as well as an independent marketing consultant where she co-founded two start-ups: Mindset Media, an ad technology platform acquired by Meebo 
in 2011, and Buttoned Up, a company dedicated to motivating people to conquer the day-to-day life chaos. 

 

Olly Downs

Chief Data Officer, Curinos

Olly is Curinos Data Scientist and leads the team focused on continuing to accelerate delivery of our patented AI and ML capabilities to our clients; building on scaled reinforcement learning and other machine learning techniques in our product suite, including harnessing the breakthroughs in generative AI, to help financial institutions meet the mass personalization opportunity with their customers.  
Prior to Curinos, Olly held enterprise executive roles leading teams in Data, Analytics and Machine Learning at BARK, Zulily and Zillow Group, has provided the creative spark behind 9 data and machine learning driven startups with exits to Microsoft, Google and Porsche, and was the founder of Amplero and inventor of its core technology as a startup, prior to its acquisition by Curinos.
Throughout his career Olly has specialized in applying abstract analytical ideas from mathematical, physical and statistical science to problems in the real world and commercializing them; to date this has resulted in 42 granted US patents.  An accomplished and published pioneer in machine learning, Olly has Erdös number 3 and published his first paper in Generative AI at the NeurIPS ’99 conference.
