CBA Launches Small Business Spotlight 2025: Supporting Main Streets Across America

Weston Loyd

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Consumer Bankers Association (CBA) today launched a new campaign in honor of Small Business Month, celebrated in the month of May. The campaign – titled Small Business Spotlight 2025: Supporting Main Streets Across America – showcases the many ways America’s leading retail banks empower entrepreneurs, communities, and Main Streets across the country.

In conjunction with the campaign launch, CBA also released an interactive tool showcasing how America’s leading retail banks support the growth of small businesses in all 50 states through the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 7(a) lending program.

CBA President and CEO Lindsey Johnson released the following statement on the campaign and interactive map:

“Small businesses are the heartbeat of the American economy – fueling innovation, creating jobs, and supporting the communities they operate in each day. From family-owned shops on Main Street to fast-growing startups in tech hubs, America’s leading retail banks are proud to support small business owners’ and entrepreneurs’ access to the credit and capital they need to help their dreams become realities.

“That’s why we created an interactive tool highlighting how Main Street banks empower small business owners across the country.

“This month – and every month – we remain committed to ensuring small businesses have the credit, tools, and resources they need to flourish and continue to drive the economy forward.”

About the Campaign and Landing Page

CBA has developed a number of assets for the campaign to be featured on the Small Business Spotlight landing page. This includes “spotlights” that tell the story of how America’s leading retail banks help Main Streets across the nation thrive. These include:

  • An interactive lending map visualizing SBA 7(a) small business lending data;
  • Blogs on resources, programs, and workshops from CBA members to support local small businesses and entrepreneurs; and
  • Testimonials from small business bankers about working with their clients and small business owners on how their local bank supports their business.

Throughout the month of May, CBA will share this content through blogs and across social media platforms.

About the Lending Data Map

CBA leverages publicly available data on SBA 7(a) lending to create an interactive map visualizing CBA member banks’ impact on small businesses and their communities including dollar amount of loans approved, small business jobs supported, and more.

The SBA 7(a) lending map is the first in a series of new interactive data visualization tools that CBA plans to roll out over the coming year.
