CBA Launches Credit Card Confidence Campaign, Partners with Social Media Influencers

Campaign Aims to Distill Information About a Broad Range of Credit Card Options in Accessible, Straightforward Advice

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Consumer Bankers Association (CBA) today launched Credit Card Confidence, a new campaign that provides best-in-class educational tools that are simple and accessible to help consumers better understand the credit card market. The campaign aims to provide consumers resources to make informed decisions on choosing a credit card that meets their particular financial needs and is best suited for their unique personal lives and preferences. Combined with the launch of the www.CreditCardConfidence.com website, CBA has partnered with a number of social media influencers to reach young adults who want to learn more about their many options in the credit card market.

CBA President and CEO Lindsey Johnson released the following statement on the launch of the campaign:

“America’s leading retail banks compete fiercely to be top of wallet for consumers by offering a wide range of highly tailored credit cards focused on cash back, travel, rewards, and more.

“There is no single right card for all consumers. With an average of four credit cards each, Americans use their credit cards to meet their specific financial needs, choosing how to optimize the various benefits offered by different cards.

“Given the wide range of credit card options available, we want to arm consumers with educational information that is easy to understand and in a way that many people – and in particular, young people – get their information. This information will help consumers better understand the credit card options available to them and ultimately choose a card that best fits their lifestyle, spending habits, and overall financial goals.

“In today’s fast-paced financial services market, it is critical to meet people where they are and to provide information about their credit card options, and a place where consumers can learn more to build their financial understanding and their credit card confidence.”
